A unique Zambezi experience
Five River Chalets & Chundu Cottage
Chundukwa River Lodge offers a refreshing departure from generic hotel experiences and reflects the labour of artisans. The 5 chalets and family house are individually decorated and designed but all focus on their unique open-fronted layout, offering breathtaking views over the Zambezi River. They are designed to sit quietly and comfortably within the natural surroundings. The decor and furniture has been tastefully made by Doug and Gail (the owners) using recycled wood, metal and sustainable reeds. Everything is made locally by our band of tradesmen and women from our local village.
Our five river chalets are all named after some of our favourite birds.
Our family room is Jacana (named after an eccentric little bird that hops across lily pads offering the illusion that it can walk on water) which has adequate space for an extra two beds. The other four chalets either have baths or showers or both and fit either twin or king-size beds.
Each chalet is equipped with the following:
Children of 10 years and older are welcome in the river chalets. Younger children are welcome to stay in our family friendly Chundu Cottage.
