Wildlife experiences

If you are passionate about wildlife, then Chundukwa River Lodge is the perfect destination for your next African safari adventure.  We are located close to some of the best wildlife experiences in the region, and we also have plenty of not-so-wild animals at the lodge.

Here is our pick of the top wildlife experiences at our lodge and in Livingstone, Victoria Falls and beyond.

Horse-back safari

Experience the bush on a horseback safari. Rides from 1.5 hours, to multi-day bespoke rides available. We have horses to suit every rider.

Walking with rhinos

It is an unforgettable experience to be able to view white rhinos and other wildlife whilst on foot, and learn about the bush on this guided walking safari in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

Game viewing safaris

We can arrange your day safaris to Chobe National Park in Botswana or Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe where you can enjoy incredible wildlife spotting experiences.

The Elephant Cafe

Enjoy a delicious meal of bush gourmet cuisine on the banks of the Zambezi, after meeting and interacting with a resident rescued herd of elephants. A speedboat trip to the café completes this unusual experience.

Photography or birding boat cruise on the Zambezi River

Birdwatching cruise

Cross some of the rarer birds off your list – over 180 species of birds have been spotted here, including the African Fin Foot and the Livingstone Turaco.

Try your luck on the Zambezi for tigerfish and bream. The local experts will collect you by boat for a morning, afternoon, or full day fishing trip.

Horses & Donkeys

For our younger guests we offer pony rides and children love visiting our stables to feed carrots to the miniature horses and rescue donkeys.

Our Furry Friends

We are all animal-lovers here at Chundukwa, and you are sure to meet some of our well-behaved furry friends while you are here.
