If you love to watch birds, and enjoy exploring birdlife you are in luck.
Chundukwa River Lodge and the Zambezi River provide some incredible opportunities to see some of the most beautiful and uncommon bird species in the world.
Blacksmith lapwing, Lanner falcon Goliath Heron, Sacred and Glossy Ibis, Majestic Pelican, Egyptian and Spurwing Goose, Water Thick-knee, Weavers, Pygmy, Giant and Pied Kingfishers and the African Fish Eagle are some of the more popular species. You'll have the opportunity to spot a myriad of rare and beautiful birds, including the Rock Pratincole, Grey-headed Parrot, African Skimmer, White-backed Night Heron, African Finfoot, Collared Palm Thrush, Dickinson's Kestrel, the Western Banded Snake Eagle, as well as some near endemic species that are not found anywhere else outside of Southern Africa like the Swynnertons Robin and the Swee Waxbill can also be found in the Zambezi Region.
