Meet the husband and wife team, who support a village!
Cynthia & Silumba are an extraordinary couple living in the remote village of Nakawa, approximately 70kms from Livingstone. Recognising the need for sustainable development in their community, Cynthia and Silumba set up the Nakawa Community Academy providing meals and education for 120 children - and growing!
A formal education in Africa gives children and young adults the opportunity to develop skills that will allow them to earn a living and support themselves, their families and their communities in the future. Nakawa Community Academy is a preschool for children aged 3 to 5 years old.
The Chundukwa Foundation raises funds for community initiatives that need support. Through partnerships, we seek to leverage the resources, knowledge, networks and strengths of stakeholders to enhance positive impact. Nakawa Community Academy is a local initiative that is seeking to be self-sustainable and self-funding.
